Isaacson-Davis House

This is the Isaacson-Davis House at Balnaring (VIC) designed by John Wardle Architects. It was designed for the specific use as a weekend and holiday house and is said to draw intentional reference to the nature of a weekender, being "unpacked on arival and repacked on departure" (Lawrence & Hurst, n.d, p.7). The spacial organisation of the house directly corresponds to the pattern of holiday living (Van Schaik, Carter, McAuliffe, Hutson & Jackson, 2008).

The design of the house also considers environmental factors, hovering above the ground so as to keep the timber flooring from coming into contact with moisture which may cause decay (Forest and Wood Products Research and Development Corporation, n.d), p. 3).
